Craftiness is afoot...

Frustration

So I’m trying to make my dad a birthday present and I’ve been working on it for like, 2 weeks already and it’s this weird poncho/shoulder warmer/hooded dickie thing and I don’t have a pattern and I don’t have the buttons I need and I’ve already had to buy more yarn for it than I thought I did and every time I fit it on him there’s something about it that needs fixing and it’s just so frustrating making something for a body that isn’t mine! *grumble* Also I want it to be done so I don’t feel guilty starting a project for myself :P But seriously. If the yarn wasn’t as soft as it is, I would have given up by now but it is lovely and soft and fluffy and my kitten always snuggles while I knit so that’s just about the only thing making this worthwhile now. Baaaaah. Humbug.

yarnmonger:

I meant to post this months ago, but it slipped my mind! Behold: The Hyrule Sigil Sweater, from the Legend of Zelda!

This is the second sweater I ever made, after I finally decided to set down my hook and pick up the needles again. I’m exceptionally proud of this.

I only got to wear it once because the weather warmed up, but at least we got that one last cold snap in March so I could try it out!

Specs:

- This is a hybridized pattern.  I used this Keyhole Tunic pattern by Patons as my base, but used bee stitch next to the cables and moved the cables around. I also elongated the pattern to make it a sweater dress. The sleeves are the exact same, though.
- I spirited that Triforce out myself. Feel free to use!
- It’s made of 100% acrylic yarn. It’s nothing special; I think it’s just Vanna’s Choice or some other Lion brand from my local Michael’s.
- It took…Surprisingly less time than I thought! I discovered that I could knit and read all my novels for my last semester as an English undergraduate (as long as they were on my computer, so I didn’t have to hold the book up), so I did this mainly while reading and during class. I started it in January and finished it early March.

Questions and comments are always welcome!

After much demand and half a year working on making it make sense, you can now knit your own tiny scaly baby dragon!

The pattern is available on the Ravelry and the Blogspot so far (it’ll be on the Etsy some other time)

AAAA! I need!!!

waking11dreams:

Half my yarn is ready to use! I just don’t know what to knit with it… It actually turned out so good!!! No crunchiness after a good hand wash session and very little colour was washed out so it looks just as lovely as it did hanging on the line! I’m just so happy with this. So lesson learned: less paint, more water, and use newer paint haha. No more dregs for me. I’m itching to find a pattern to show off my very own hand painted yarn!

I know I’ve gone kinda photo dumpy in the past few days. Haha. I feel like in spoiling you all ;) just finally getting around to posting all this stuff I’ve had kicking around waiting to be finished. These are a gorgeous patten I found on Ravelry called the fishtail gloves. And the wool is just soooooo soft :) *nuzzles* More uploads coming soon I hope!

So I found this awesome video on YouTube that shows how to dye acrylic yarn with acrylic paint (I know… Convenient, right?) cause I just got my hands on a TON of fingering weight yarn, most of which is pale pastel baby colours. The balls are my first batch which, unfortunately, remained a little crunchy cause I was using he dregs of old paint and it got a bit gross. But I have higher hopes for my new batch that’s currently on the line drying! I shall post the results! *very excited*

SOOOOOCKS! SOCKSOCKSOCKSOCKSOCKS!!!
Hehe. I’m so pleased with these :) only thing I’d change would be to make them without the black stripes bu I was seriously budgeting my self striping yarn as it was. I was left with about 2 grams… So yikes! But I made it!
Next pair of socks I make will be on NEW NEEDLES!! Who’s excited? This girl! Getting a whole bunch of needles from Knitpicks including a gorgeous set of rainbow wood interchangeable circulars! *swoons* I shall pos pics when they arrive in the next week or so. I’m dying with impatience! First project is def gonna be a Jayne Cobb hat for kaito cause I’ve been at a loss as to how to knit it on DPNs since the pattern calls for size 10 needles… Anyways. I will have so much knitting to do soon and I can’t wait!!!

Had to wait for pics of my cousin’s little girl wearing this before I shared it! Ain’t she a cutey? I love baby clothes… They’re done so fast! These were super quick to knit up and once I find the pattern that’s buried on my computer somewhere I’ll post a link.

Why do they always get posted on the wrong blog on the app!? I’m so bad at technology….
